What is this? :
Once a month, we host a public event for everyone to sign up & come to learn the basics of glassblowing by creating their own paperweight!
Ages 7 and up are allowed to sign up for this event for the cost of $58 per person.
This price of $58 covers the cost of energy, glass, and artist hourly pay.
Bring your friends, and family to either participate or witness your hands-on experience,
from color selection to a completed piece of glass art- you are involved in every step of the process!
Paperweights will be cooled down and ready for pick up the following Tuesday!
How do I sign up? :
By calling our studio and signing up with one of our artists at (517)-655-4000
They will guide you through the sign-up process step by step. They will mention available time slots, answer any questions and take your payment over the phone. All major cards are accepted.
(72-hour hold for checks sent by mail.)
What else? :
No prior experience is required. This is a demonstration and hands-on project for the individual student to make their own paperweight. Since paperweights are solid pieces of glass, there will be no blowing of glass in this event. The students will learn to work with the heat, learn the tool names, glass blowing lingo, and ask questions along the way.
All students will be able to choose their design and color of their own paperweight, as well as use tools given to them by the two assisting artists.
If you would like to take a more advanced class, we do not offer any other types of classes at our studio at this time. Please speak to one of our artists, and we will direct you to the right place.
What to wear:
Please do NOT wear open-toed shoes or sandals.
Long Pants are recommended but not mandatory.
Natural Fiber clothes are best. (i.e. cotton, linen, etc.)
Long hair should be tied back.
Safety Glasses must be worn, glasses are provided in class if needed.

At the event, you will have the option of having the finished paperweight shipped to your house for an additional fee of $10.00
If you would like this option please let us know!
Tools and Materials are included in the class.
No time slots can be moved, switched or carried over.
All purchased time slots must be used for the event time you purchased.
Refunds can be given up to 7 days before the event.
We do not put holds on any time slots, (other than for checks mailed).
When you call, please give the artist your email and or phone number for them to write down on the sign-up sheet, we will contact you with a confirmation call or email closer to the event date.
